- ➤ The planning commission unanimously recommended rejecting a $40M crushed-rock quarry after over 20 local residents voiced concerns about environmental damage and increased traffic near the proposed site between Harlem and Appling. - ➤ Red Crab, a south Augusta seafood restaurant, scored a failing 70 during inspections from Dec. 19 to 26 and was cited for several health violations (including poor employee hygiene and blocked sinks). The Augusta Chronicle
