Registration for the James Brown Turkey Giveaway starts this Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at May Park where residents in need must show identification and a current power bill or proof of residence; a second registration option is available on November 15, and turkey pickup is set for November 24 at 8 a.m.

ACTS of Aiken launched an emergency food bank — designed to help local residents facing food insecurity amid SNAP delays — to serve the CSRA during the potential government shutdown.
