- ➤ On Thursday, cotton farmers donated more than 1,400 pairs of socks to the CSRA Economic Opportunity Authority to help people experiencing homelessness stay warm this winter in Augusta. This donation reflects a regional effort to support both community members and local farmers. WRDW
- ➤ Nearly 1,300 children in our community will receive Christmas gifts from the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, thanks to local donations + ensuring holiday cheer for families. WRDW
- ➤ AAA forecasts more than 3.8 million Georgians will travel this season, setting a record and increasing highway traffic near Augusta. The Georgia DOT will suspend lane closures near shopping areas from Dec. 23 to Dec. 28 and from Dec. 31 to Jan. 2 to help drivers plan ahead. WRDW
- ➤ Crews completed safety improvements so a section of the Augusta Canal towpath is reopening today between the raw water pump station and the I-20 bridge. Embankment repairs will happen later, and visitors are advised to follow posted signs and remain behind safety barriers. WRDW

- ➤ Student Health Services at Augusta University will relocate to suite 1500 in the Health Sciences Building mid-December to boost clinical care and research; normal hours resume Jan. 2, and a grand opening with a mural contest is set for Friday, Jan. 9 – inviting students, faculty, and staff to experience the new space. - ➤ Sons of Consolation Ministries and Cutter’s Resource Closet are joining to buy a building for a medical equipment distribution center in Augusta that will include exam rooms for health checks and office space for community consultations. - ➤ Augusta health officials warn that norovirus—a common stomach flu—is spreading, causing vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, and stomach pain. They advise residents to wash hands with soap and water and to stay home for two days after symptoms improve. WRDW
