  • The Turnaround Foundation hosted its sixth annual Thanksgiving feast for neighbors in need on Nov.26—local restaurants and community members donated holiday favorites to support attendees in Augusta.  WRDW
  • The Salvation Army of Aiken is preparing to serve its annual Thanksgiving meal today — the dinner will feed hundreds in Augusta.  WRDW
  • On November 26th, Augusta’s airport and roads were busy—travelers rushed home for Thanksgiving.  WRDW
  • On November 26th, officers with the Richmond County Marshal's Office and Sheriff's Office delivered Thanksgiving food to those in need—bringing holiday support to local residents.  WRDW
  • Local communities will kick off Christmas celebrations with official tree lightings on Dec. 4 at Evans Towne Center Park — offering ice skating, holiday shopping, and local food trucks — and in Aiken at the downtown tree lighting and Festival of Trees at the Center for African American History, Art and Culture. Augusta will hold its Christmas parade on Dec. 6 with a tree lighting and fireworks at the Augusta Common.  WRDW

  • Many Augusta shoppers found that store prices vary for Thanksgiving items, which could make finding good deals more difficult. Buyers may need to visit a few shops to compare offers as they plan their holiday spending.  WRDW

  • Studies show that online prices drop when there are fewer buyers — retailers lower prices between 6 a.m. and noon on Tuesdays while Friday mornings cost more, so shoppers should track prices and set alerts to save on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  WRDW

  • On November 25th, the Augusta Commission approved an intergovernmental agreement that lets Augusta Animal Services handle animal complaints and stray issues in Hephzibah—Hephzibah will review the plan before any services start.  City of Augusta
  • VA Augusta ranks third nationally for housing homeless veterans—this ranking shows the facility's strong efforts to offer homes and care for veterans.  FOX54

HEALTH NEWS

  • Doctors at Augusta University’s Medical College of Georgia say artificial intelligence is speeding up patient care by cutting down on paperwork and administrative tasks. The college named Dr. Jeffery Talbert as the first chair of its new Department of AI and Health—aiming to expand training and research with AI tools for both new and practicing doctors.  The Bell Ringer
