- ➤ Gap Ministries hosted an early Thanksgiving celebration Tuesday in Augusta for local residents to enjoy holiday favorites such as ham, stuffing, sweet potatoes and sweets—helping to ensure no one went hungry during the season. WRDW
- ➤ For decades, Josey High School Class of 1994 has fed the community for Thanksgiving and they will keep the tradition going this year to help local residents. WRDW
- ➤ Local churches are partnering to offer a free Thanksgiving meal for residents tomorrow — organizers plan to serve meals at designated sites to help those in need. WRDW
- ➤ El Paso Tacos and Tequila provided free meals for four hours Tuesday night to help community members get a hot meal — manager Yisel Garcia said the restaurant aimed to support those in need. WRDW
- ➤ The Richmond County Marshal’s Office delivered Thanksgiving meals to 55 families in Augusta—partnering with local groups to help those struggling with food access. The door-to-door delivery reached families recovering from Hurricane Helene or affected by the government shutdown. WRDW
- ➤ The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office delivered groceries to several local families on Tuesday to help them have a good Thanksgiving—families were selected based on past interactions with the department and extra support needs amid the government shutdown. WRDW

- ➤ Junior Achievement of Georgia announced that Delores Dee Crawford and Brad Usry will be inducted as the 2026 Greater Augusta Business Hall of Fame Laureates and that Jane Marie Kinsey will be honored as the Rising Star at its 13th annual gala on March 19th at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Resilient Communities of East Georgia will hold orientation for the Resilient Teens program on Jan. 26 with online weekly sessions starting Feb. 2 to teach middle and high school students skills like conflict resolution and goal-setting.
