- ➤ Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA partnered with Golden Harvest Food Bank to create a one-stop donation location for the holiday season. The site aims to make it easier for local residents to drop off items — a new way to support neighbors in need during the holidays. WRDW
- ➤ Golden Harvest Food Bank has partnered with DoorDash and United Way for Project Dash to deliver food, hygiene products and basic household items directly to neighbors who cannot easily reach the food bank (the service will serve residents in Richmond, Columbia, Burke, McDuffie and Jefferson counties and is backed by a $35,000 donation). EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Augusta University was awarded a $1.3 million federal TRIO Student Support Services grant to expand academic advising and tutoring for low-income, first-generation and disabled students over the next five years. - ➤ On November 7, the Georgia Department of Education honored eight RCSS schools for strong gains in reading and math—four schools earned Literacy Leader awards (A.R. Johnson, C.T. Walker, Gracewood, and Jamestown) and four earned Math Leader awards (Freedom Park, John M. Tutt, John S. Davidson, and Warren Road).
