- ➤ On Nov. 8, 2025 — about 600 people and a few dogs walked a three-mile route from SRP Park to Saint Paul's Church and back to show the long journey many take for clean water; Water Mission organized the event to raise awareness about global access to clean water. Augusta Good News
- ➤ Local veterans Tiffany and Kelly O’Neal opened Rally Point Grille in Evans 2½ years ago to offer a military-themed space where service members and their families can gather—its décor includes flags, plaques, and photographs that celebrate military life. The restaurant will host a week of special celebrations after Veterans Day with themed menu items and events to honor each branch of the military. Augusta Good News

- ➤ A new mural honoring African-American soldiers will be unveiled Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the S.O.A.R. building at 1134 Laney-Walker Blvd — local artist Theron Cartwright created the work to recognize Augusta residents who served during the Golden Blocks Era. The Augusta Press

- ➤ As early next week brings cooler weather, Georgia Power advises Augusta residents to improve energy efficiency—by cleaning air filters, checking insulation, and using a programmable thermostat—to keep homes warm and save on heating costs. The Augusta Chronicle

- ➤ Mercado Emanuel—a south Augusta Mexican restaurant—received an 81 after inspectors found gnats in the main kitchen, missing supplies at a handwashing sink, and food held below proper temperatures during inspections conducted between Oct. 31 and Nov. 7. The Augusta Chronicle

- ➤ Kirby Smart and his Georgia football team remain ranked No. 5 in the US LBM Coaches Poll released Sunday after beating Mississippi State 41-21 on Nov. 8, even though they received no first-place votes.
