- ➤ Former Augusta University President Brooks A. Keel, who retired in June 2024, was named President Emeritus by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents on Oct. 14 after Chancellor Sonny Perdue recommended the honor. - ➤ State School Superintendent Richard Woods announced today that the Georgia Department of Education is accepting Military Flagship School Award applications to honor schools that support military students and families.
