- ➤ The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office honored former Sergeant Mike Logue after he passed away from cancer, marking the end of nearly 40 years of dedicated service. He retired in 2023—earning a Medal of Valor in 2014—and left a legacy of courage and compassion in the community. The Augusta Press

- ➤ Augusta University volleyball team swept Middle Georgia in straight sets at Christenberry Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon—winning 25-19, 25-20, and 25-17 to stay undefeated at 9-0. The Jaguars will host Lees-McRae later today at 5 p.m. at the same venue. The Bell Ringer
- ➤ Augusta University’s women’s cross-country team finished second at the Peach Belt Championships on Saturday, Oct. 25th, trailing champion Flagler by 41 points. Senior Madison Thomas ran the 6-kilometer race in 18 minutes, 56.5 seconds — her third-place finish helped pace the Jaguars as North Georgia finished third. The Bell Ringer
- ➤ Westside High School football stayed undefeated with a 44-27 win over Baldwin on Oct. 24—Patriots coach Cedrick Mason praised key third-quarter drives led by quarterback Jaylen Stone and four touchdowns by Tamari Curry. The team will meet West Laurens next Friday for the region title. Augusta Good News
- ➤ Doyle Campbell (a member of the Augusta Stars) won a silver medal at the Special Olympics North American Tennis competition on Oct. 17 at Hilton Head, S.C. He played two six-set matches while coach Vernon Broome (who mentioned more tournaments in the future) said this was his first appearance at the event. Augusta Good News
- ➤ Flagler’s men’s cross-country team ended Augusta University’s six-year hold on the Peach Belt Conference title with a 20-point win over the Jaguars on October 25 at Georgia College and State University’s West Campus. The team had five runners finish in top spots while AU’s best runner came in third, marking Flagler’s first title since 2016. The Bell Ringer
