- ➤ Augusta law enforcement ended a year-long drug investigation with the seizure of over 5.5 pounds of fentanyl—enough for 1.25 million lethal doses—and the arrest of suspects Tyriquez McFadden and Nichael Lessey for trafficking drugs and firearms. The Augusta Press
- ➤ Hajir Talebzadeh, an Augusta man accused of fatally shooting his ex-wife and her mother during a custody exchange outside Best Buy on Sept. 1, was booked at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center after treatment for head injuries at Wellstar MCG Health Hospital—he now faces two counts of murder and a child cruelty charge while authorities review the incident that took place in front of his 5-year-old son.
