- ➤ Applications for the Salvation Army Angel Tree program will open at 9 a.m. Oct. 6 and will help provide new clothing and toys for children 12 and younger during the holiday season. - ➤ On Sept. 6th, runners gathered at Augusta University Summerville for the 9th annual Tunnel to Towers 5k—an event that honored the victims of 9/11. The ceremony featured the Joint Service Honor Guard and local officials—who presented the colors and national anthem during the memorial proceedings. The Augusta Chronicle

- ➤ VA Augusta Health Care System will host a job fair on Sept. 11 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Uptown campus at 1 Freedom Way—where they plan to make on-site hires for healthcare support and other roles. Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia will host its Fall 2025 Job Fair on Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Snelling Conference Center to help job seekers find employment. Augusta Good News

- ➤ Via Cognitive Health and Augusta University will start Lifelong Learning Courses on Sept. 10 in a fall series taught by Augusta University professors. The five-week courses will meet on Wednesdays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.—Session 1 runs until Oct. 8 with Session 2 beginning Oct. 15. Augusta Good News
- ➤ Augusta Technical College named 10 alumni as its new Den of Distinction inductees — they are celebrated for their skill and spirit in technical education. The induction will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 — the event is open to the public. Augusta Good News

- ➤ The Augusta University men's golf team finished 12th on Sept. 7 at Tennessee Knoxville Golf Club with a score of +26 over three rounds, and they will compete in Cincinnati at the Bearcat Invitational on Sept. 15-16. Augusta Good News
- ➤ The Augusta GreenJackets ended their season with a 10—0 win over the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers at SRP Park as Jacob Shafer pitched six hitless innings. John Gil hit a leadoff homer and the team finished at a 67—62 record, marking its first winning season since 2022 with plans to build on their success next season. Augusta Good News
