  • Golden Harvest Food Bank is rallying the community this September to fight hunger by hosting events, volunteer opportunities, and guided tours at its Augusta facility—its main event is Hunger Action Day on September 9 when residents are asked to wear orange.   • Debbie Layman, an alumna of the College of Nursing at Augusta University, was honored with the Regents’ Hall of Fame Alumni and Distinguished Friends award at the 21st Annual Board of Regents’ Scholarship and Awards Gala on Aug. 23—recognizing her nearly 20 years of leadership with the Costa Layman Health Fair that trained students and provided vital health screenings to underserved communities.
