  • In Augusta, Growing Augusta and city officials presented the inaugural Adderson Legacy in Agriculture Award to Loretta and Samuel Adderson on August 19th for their role in founding Adderson’s Historic Black Farm in Keysville — the award will be given each August to honor outstanding work in farming, mentorship, cultural preservation and land stewardship.  Augusta CEO
  • On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the CSRA will host Hope After Helene—a free day of support and celebration marking the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene. Local churches, nonprofits, and civic groups will offer drive-thru resources at four schools in the morning and a family festival at Project Life in the afternoon.  Augusta CEO

  • Tifudi opened on Walton Way and now serves Pad Thai and Tom Yum with custom orders—owners Bruce and June MacPherson started the restaurant after June used her natural, memory-based Thai recipes. The new spot gives local diners an authentic taste of Thai food in an area that needed more food options.  WRDW

CRIME NEWS

  • Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Javoris Trejon Reid (36) wanted for aggravated assault and battery that occurred on the 200 block of Boy Scout Road on Aug. 31; he is homeless and is known to frequent the 2800 block of Washington Road and the 2500 block of Center West Parkway.  WRDW
  • Richmond County Sheriff’s Office arrested 61-year-old Dannie Luke—charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm—three months after a shooting at Bon Air Apartments on May 24 that left a man wounded and taken to Wellstar.  WRDW

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Georgia saw slower job growth in 2024 and early 2025 as federal spending cuts, falling tourism, and AI changes affected jobs while data center work spread to areas including Augusta—experts predict 65,800 new jobs in 2026 and a boost for aerospace companies as European defense spending rises.  Augusta CEO
