- ➤ St. John United Methodist Church held its first service yesterday in its renovated Greene Street sanctuary after repairs from Hurricane Helene nearly 11 months ago—Pastor Jenny Anderson said the congregation felt like coming home. The church will celebrate the renovations on Sept. 7 with a restoration team speaking and five pianists performing at the Concerts with a Cause event on Sept. 21. Augusta Good News

- ➤ During the Signing Day event, 38 college interns accepted full-time jobs with Savannah River Nuclear Solutions and the company celebrated its 100th intern signing—marking a key milestone in the 2025 summer internship program. The Augusta Press

- ➤ Rick Bragg attracted about 300 ticketholders to the Maxwell Theater on the Summerville campus where he told lively Southern stories that delighted the crowd — marking a strong evening of local storytelling. The Augusta Press
- ➤ Yesterday, Paine College inducted 100 high school girls into the Rosa T. Beard Debutante Club, marking the largest induction group to date. The club, founded in 1963 by Rosa Beard and now led by her daughter, has a long tradition of mentoring and community service in Augusta. WRDW
