- ➤ Forbes reported that Georgia ranks No.2 nationwide for strict traffic laws—drivers in the state may face fines up to $500 for speeding and a one-year license suspension for a first DUI offense. - ➤ Georgia law now requires all new 911 systems to follow NG911 standards after House Bill 423 was signed by Governor Kemp on July 1—this change lets systems send texts, pictures and exact locations to first responders. About $5.7 million in state funds will kick off the rollout while updated federal rules help cities switch from old landlines to the new digital emergency system—boosting public safety across our communities.
