U.S. News & World Report released its 2026-2027 ranking of Georgia high schools on Tuesday, Aug.
19, with Davidson Fine Arts in Augusta ranking fourth among the top ten. The report measured graduation rates, test scores & AP exam results to gauge academic performance statewide.
Students returned to campus for fall classes on Tuesday, Aug.
18 at AU, where the Summerville Campus hosted basketball giveaways and other fun activities as the Fall 2026 semester began.
Construction Ready and the Home Builders Institute are partnering to offer an eight-week pre-apprenticeship training program at Augusta Technical College through Sept.
9. Classes began July 20 and include a hiring fair on Sept. 8 + a graduation on Sept. 9 to connect participants with job placements.

Augusta business leaders Allan and Ursula Soto have committed $1M to expand services at the Kisner Center at Wellstar Golisano Children’s Hospital.
Their donation will strengthen autism diagnostic services + support a program that guides families through diagnosis and care.

A local golf facility and a nonprofit will team up on Saturday to grow women's golf and remove barriers to playing.
The effort aims to offer more accessible opportunities at the facility and boost participation among local women.
