- ➤ The Richmond County Board of Education named Dr. Malinda Cobb as superintendent of schools effective August 13 following her service as interim after Dr. Kenneth Bradshaw retired. The board voted 6-4 after reviewing community feedback and applications from 35 candidates. Augusta CEO
- ➤ Trenton Hall— a 14-year-old student at Augusta Christian Schools—won a $2,000 Exchange gift card in the Army & Air Force Exchange Service’s You Made The Grade sweepstakes at the Fort Gordon Exchange on Aug. 12. - ➤ The Georgia DOT said today that a federal rule letting alternative fuel vehicles drive alone in high occupancy lanes will end at 11:59 p.m. on September 29.
