- ➤ Two former correctional officers, Robert Roberson and Marcus Phillips, were indicted Tuesday for allowing an inmate to die of smoke inhalation after they failed to act on a smoldering fire in his cell at Augusta State Medical Prison in 2020—one charge includes falsifying a logbook to cover up their actions.
