CULTURE NEWS

  • Deveran Roof donated water-damaged guitars — along with guitar racks — from his shop at 1131 Broad St. to the Jessye Norman School of the Arts on July 22nd, where Gary Dennis said the instruments will support free music lessons for students. Roof said he could not sell the guitars due to the damage and is using the donation to help kids learn music.  Augusta Good News

  • Richmond County held its summer graduation ceremony at Butler High School on July 24 — more than 100 students received their diplomas during the event.  The Augusta Chronicle
