  • PureCycle Technologies is expanding its Generation 2 recycling facility in Augusta next to the Starbucks production plant to recycle plastic using chemical and thermal processes—financing closed June 20 and construction will begin later this year. The company plans to build 1 billion pounds of capacity and earn $600 million each year by 2030.  The Augusta Chronicle

  • On Tuesday at 10 a.m., a 63-year-old Augusta woman who was drunk drove her 2016 Chrysler 300 over 100 mph and crashed into a 2018 GMC Savannah van on I-520 near Wrightsboro Road, injuring Donell Brown—a 33-year-old YMCA volunteer picking up food from Golden Harvest Food Bank—who now remains in critical condition at Doctor’s Hospital.  The Augusta Press
