  • Gulf Coast Industrial held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 16 to mark the grand reopening of its Specialty Fireproofing and Coatings Facility in Augusta. The company rebuilt the 52,000-square-foot facility after a fire in Fall 2024 and added features such as two 15-ton overhead cranes and a 30-person training center.  Augusta Good News

CRIME NEWS

  • Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to shots fired around 10:39 p.m. on June 15 near Essie McIntire Boulevard (Luckey Street) and found 35-year-old Solomon Lanham unresponsive; he was pronounced dead at Wellstar/MCG ER at 11:15 p.m.  The Augusta Press
  • Authorities said an autopsy was scheduled Monday for a 4-month-old girl who died at an unlicensed day care in Columbia County after she was put down for a nap at 10:30 a.m. and was found unresponsive two hours later+ the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning is investigating the death.  WRDW
