- ➤ At about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sergeant Darrell Grooms rescued a father and son from a strong water current at the Lock and Dam behind Augusta Regional Airport — local good Samaritans also helped, and both were taken to the hospital for evaluation. NewsChannel 6

- ➤ I-20 reopened Sunday in Aiken County after a fuel truck crashed and set off a fire that collapsed the Old Vaucluse Road overpass—closing the highway for miles until crews cleared the debris. WRDW
- ➤ Early Saturday, an overpass on I-20 in Aiken County collapsed after a tractor-trailer crash and fire that damaged the bridge beyond repair but no one was injured — SCDOT set up detours via I-520 to Jefferson Davis Highway and Robert M. Bell Highway eastbound and Edgefield Highway to Edgefield Road westbound, and demolition is underway with crews working overnight to clear debris by early this week. The Augusta Chronicle

- ➤ A 35-year-old man identified as Solomon Lanham was fatally shot at the Essie McIntire Bouvard and Luckey Street intersection late Sunday night — deputies arrived at 10:39 p.m., he was taken to Wellstar ER and pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m., and an autopsy has been scheduled as the investigation continues. - ➤ 14-year-old Kendra Lindsey was last seen on June 8 at a Super 8 Motel in the 3000 block of Washington Road — she may have been wearing a white shirt and denim shorts and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information to call 706-821-1020 or 706-821-1080. WRDW
