- ➤ Zaxby's has brought back milkshakes after a seven year break and they are available in select Georgia locations including Augusta from limited outlets. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A deadly shooting at Integrity Apartments at 110 Integrity Drive on Thursday night left property manager Kameron Mason, 28, dead at 11:36 p.m., and another person injured—deputies said a dispute over pool use may have sparked the incident. The Augusta Press
- ➤ On Thursday night, Richmond County deputies arrived at MacArthur Park Apartments on Little Rock Drive at about 10:30 p.m.—they found two shooting victims, with 28-year-old Kameron Mason pronounced dead at 11:30 p.m. and another person taken to Wellstar-MCG for treatment while authorities scheduled an autopsy. - ➤ The Greater Augusta Arts Council will celebrate 40 years of honoring local arts with its 2025 Augusta Annual Arts Awards Gala on June 20 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's River Room—tickets cost $65 for Arts Council members, $75 for non-members and $125 for couples, and winners include Christine Miller Betts for Lifetime Achievement, Steven Kendrick for the President's Award, and Barbara Feldman for Executive Director’s Visionary Leadership Award. - ➤ According to AAA, 1.38 million Georgians are expected to travel at least 50 miles from home from May 22 until May 26 with about 1.23 million planned to drive as state patrol monitors the roads. The Georgia Department of Transportation will suspend interstate lane closures from Friday at noon until Tuesday at 5 p.m. and officials advise travelers to drive early to avoid heavy congestion. - ➤ Georgia DNR has shared boat safety tips for Memorial Day weekend at Clarks Hill Lake as boating season gets underway. They advise that children (under 13) must wear a life jacket and boat operators (born after January 1st, 1998) must complete a boating course, with a sober, licensed crew member required if alcohol is consumed.
