- ➤ On May 13th, the Georgia Supreme Court heard oral arguments in Guy v. Housing Authority of the City of Augusta after tenant Christina Guy sued following a robbery that left her shot at Dogwood Terrace in November 2021. Lower courts ruled in favor of sovereign immunity, but the high court will soon decide if public housing authorities must provide more security for residents in Augusta. The Augusta Chronicle
- ➤ Governor Brian Kemp signed a law that creates the Vince Dooley Battlefield Trust Fund to match grants for protecting Georgia battlefields and honor the late UGA football coach who loved history.
