- ➤ A two-day turkey hunt at SRS gave 15 disabled hunters and escorts a unique chance to harvest a turkey and build lasting memories. The event was held by the U.S. Forest Service + local partners in the Site’s 90,000-acre woodlands and supported wild turkey research. Augusta CEO

- ➤ On Monday, the Augusta Mini Theatre held a ceremony at the Carrie J. Mays Center to honor mortician Carrie J. Mays and remember those affected by the 1970 riots. The event marked the 56th anniversary and provided a reflective moment for the community. WRDW
- ➤ The inaugural Augusta Music & Songwriter Festival is set to take place May 15–16 at Augusta Common, offering live music performances, artist workshops, and meet-and-greet sessions with emerging and established talent. - ➤ Governor Brian Kemp signed legislation on May 11 that creates the DREAMS Scholarship to give low-income college students up to $3,000 per year starting next fall — recipients must work or volunteer part-time and can receive aid for up to eight semesters at public colleges. The Augusta Chronicle
