- ➤ The Augusta Canal Authority and city of Augusta will break ground today at 10 a.m. on a new trailhead and pedestrian bridge at the Village at Riverwatch, near Bass Pro Shops and Topgolf. The project will create safe, ADA-compliant access and add amenities like a kayak launch and fishing areas. WRDW
- ➤ The Salvation Army is partnering with Frog + the Hen for a May donation drive that collects individually packaged snacks at drop-off points including the Center of Hope, Kroc Center and Family Store locations. - ➤ On Tuesday, Paine College received a five-year accreditation from the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools after a ceremony before Augusta’s commission; the college now plans to offer nine new bachelor’s and nine master’s programs (approved by its Board of Trustees) and expand its facilities to reach 1,500 students.
