- ➤ On Monday at 1:04 p.m., a two-vehicle crash on Peach Orchard Road in Augusta resulted in a child's death and injuries to others — a male died at 1:50 p.m. at the hospital as officials investigate the incident. WRDW

Dr. William Jefferson White Sr.—a leader who fought for civil and religious rights in Augusta—will be dedicated Thursday at Harmony Baptist Church at 930 Hopkins St. at 10 a.m. The Georgia Historical Society organized the event to honor White’s work as a carpenter, educator, minister and leader in rebuilding rights after the Civil War.
