Authorities identified the decomposed remains of 32-year-old Devon Laroyce Shade found on April 17 on the rural 2100 block of McNutt Road behind a south Augusta home—autopsy results are pending to determine his cause of death.

On April 19, at 2 a.m. on Broad Street, deputies heard a shot and found a 61-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head—officers arrested a man and a woman and recovered a gun while indicating the shooting was targeted.
