CRIME NEWS

  • A Richmond County jury convicted Terrence Wayne Cumber, 29, on Friday for the June 2020 killing of Ahmad Popal outside The Scene Nightclub on Broad Street, and he was sentenced to Life in prison plus five years.  NewsChannel 6
  • Deputies responded at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday to a domestic dispute on the 2900 block of Greensboro Road—where a man was shot and taken to an Augusta area hospital in critical condition while the alleged offender was arrested, with no public threat reported by the sheriff’s office.  WRDW

CULTURE NEWS

  • A 20-foot sculpture—showing a golf tee with scenes from Augusta National—was unveiled Thursday at the Sand Hills Community Center to honor the black caddies who once worked at the course. Former caddies, including Ben Bussey, attended the ceremony to celebrate their legacy.  The Augusta Chronicle

  • On Friday afternoon at 1:08, Donate Life and Piedmont Hospital staff raised a flag to honor organ donors and recipients during Donate Life month (the flag symbolized that one donor can save eight lives).
