- ➤ Maurice Johnson, an Augusta actor, will leave CBS's 'Beyond the Gates' and will be replaced in May by Keith Robinson as Dr. Ted Richardson. The soap is the first daytime drama with a majority (Black cast) on a Big Three network since 1999. The Augusta Chronicle
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Georgia DOT will stop construction lane closures on interstates and major state routes leading to Augusta from April 2 to April 14 to help ease traffic during upcoming golf events. The agency will also send HERO and CHAMP units—drivers can dial 511 for road service. NewsChannel 6
- ➤ On Monday, the Georgia legislature passed House Bill 268 that directs schools to track troubling behavior and expand mental health services following the mass shooting at Apalachee High School—new rules allowing teens charged with terroristic acts to be tried as adults were added, and the bill now goes to Gov. - ➤ The Golf with Us Clinic on March 31 gave high school girls from Lakeside, Evans, Greenbrier, Harlem and Grovetown a chance to learn golf with stars Annika Sörenstam and Suzy Whaley.
