  • The YMCA of Greater Augusta has completed its 2026 campaign by raising $1.72 million — 101.3 percent of its goal — to support programs in food security, water safety, and adaptive sports. The funds now assist children, families and seniors across the CSRA.  WRDW
  • Dave’s Hot Chicken is opening its first Augusta location at 1102 Trust Avenue and will host a Community Day on Saturday, Mar. 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will honor local heroes with a first responder showcase, Girl Scouts help, a live band, TreSounds & fun activities.  Augusta CEO

  • An 11-foot-tall 'Together We Bloom' sculpture featuring Georgia native flowers was unveiled at the Salvation Army Kroc Center campus on March 24 — the ribbon cutting celebrated local artistry as construction continues on Ann Boardman Park with athletic turf and pickleball courts.  Augusta Good News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Richmond County Board of Education voted Tuesday to retain the name Josey for the Richmond County College and Career Academy. The decision upholds the school’s heritage (supporting local tradition) and marks a continuity in educational leadership.  WRDW

  • Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia has announced a new partnership with Premier Health Network to expand coordinated, high-quality care for Anthem members—covering commercial plans and Medicare Advantage while nearly 500 providers serve the CSRA community.  Augusta CEO

SPORTS NEWS

  • Augusta National has released the schedule for the 2026 Masters Tournament along with events like ANWA and Par 3. Golf fans can follow updates on event timings and details as the tournament approaches.  The Augusta Chronicle
