- ➤ The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has awarded $33.2 million in grants through its Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program for conservation and outdoor recreation projects across the state. - ➤ House lawmakers approved Senate Bill 523, establishing a Georgia process for investigating discrimination complaints in schools and colleges related to race, ethnicity, national origin or religion. - ➤ Gov. Brian Kemp signed a measure suspending the gasoline tax for 60 days as rising inflation and global oil prices push costs higher — the suspension is now in effect to ease high fuel costs for drivers. WRDW
- ➤ At Augusta VA Medical Center, an internal email reminds staff not to refer veterans to external oversight agencies as the acting executive director works to answer Sen. - ➤ The new state budget signed on March 3 offers temporary tax relief—providing a Homeowner Tax Relief Grant that cuts around $500 from property taxes and income tax rebates from a $850 million surplus—and homeowners may appeal taxable values to secure an assessment freeze for three years.
