- ➤ North Augusta Animal Shelter has emptied its pound and finished a full remodel—its updated facility is ready for incoming animals. The shelter helped 32 animals so far this year and works with local rescues to reunite pets with their families. WRDW

- ➤ A man died after darting into traffic while crossing Deans Bridge Road at Barton Chapel Road at 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday—one of nearly 100 pedestrian deaths in south Augusta over the past decade that mostly occurred between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. on four major roads. WRDW

Daniel Jr. Parkway under franchisee Kenny Hanna after the longtime location at Augusta Exchange closed earlier this month—its building sits on the former O'Charley property.
