- ➤ The Greater Augusta Arts Council hosts its first Youth Emerging Artist Showcase — where artists aged 8 to 18 display 8 by 10 art pieces at City Gallery on 535 Telfair Street until April 22 — with a reception planned Friday, April 17 at 5-7 p.m. Augusta CEO
- ➤ Dr. Spencer Wise, an associate professor at the university, has been nominated for a national Pushcart Prize for his short story Lake People, earning recognition for his literary work. WRDW

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Georgia lawmakers approved a measure that may give eligible taxpayers up to $500 if Gov. Kemp signs it; the rebate is $250 for singles, $375 for heads of household, and $500 for married couples filing jointly, available for those who filed 2024 and 2025 returns, with details to follow.
