- ➤ Augusta/CSRA Habitat for Humanity received a Hurricane Helene Relief grant that raised $50,000 and provided $100,000 to help homeowners in Richmond and Columbia Counties. CEO Bernadette Kelliher said the program covers repair costs not met by insurance and will help repair long-lasting damage from Hurricane Helene over the next three to five years — applicants must follow a set process to receive the aid. - ➤ Augusta’s St. Patrick’s Day parade will take place on Monday at 2 p.m. downtown as the route begins on Greene Street, goes on 11th Street, and ends on Broad Street— the Irish American Heritage Society is hosting the parade with a float that features all regional state sports champions. WRDW

- ➤ Deputy David Hopkins shot armed suspect Brandon Pierre Hill on March 13th near Glenn Hills Middle School after Hill reportedly stole a gun during a domestic dispute on Primrose Drive—Hill remains in critical condition at Doctors Hospital and faces charges of aggravated assault and weapon possession, authorities said. - ➤ A jury sentenced 31-year-old Dmond Jackson to seven consecutive life terms and 280 years on Thursday after he carried out armed robberies, kidnappings, carjackings and shootings in Augusta from April 1 to May 30, 2024—he was arrested on June 3, 2024. WRDW
