- ➤ An A.R. Johnson student collected 300+ pairs of socks that will soon be sent to the Salvation Army Center of Hope, offering comfort to local families. WRDW

- ➤ Due to the war in the Middle East, gas prices have risen and on Monday Augusta drivers paid an average of $3.11 per gallon, up from $2.57 a month ago; prices in South Carolina average about $3.16 per gallon + Aiken County’s rate is near $3.03. WRDW

- ➤ Hundreds of commercial tires dumped on Wednesday at Historic Pleasant Hill Victory AME Church in Augusta damaged century-old headstones and led Pastor Lola Russell to call for property protection while a GoFundMe campaign raised funds—community efforts to secure this sacred site continue. WRDW

- ➤ The state Senate approved a bill in a 46 to 1 vote that would bar students with chronic absences from sports and may suspend their driver’s licenses if they do not follow an attendance plan. The measure now heads to the state House for review. Augusta CEO
