- ➤ On Thursday morning the Community Foundation awarded more than $735,000 in grants to local nonprofits. The celebration honored organizations providing essential services in Augusta. WRDW
- ➤ A new Mastercard cybersecurity survey shows that while many think seniors are the most at risk, 43% of Gen Z and 39% of millennials engaged with scam attempts online (including fake ads and job offers) today. Families are encouraged to share these tips to help prevent falling for such scams. WRDW
- ➤ An Augusta lottery player won $10,000 on Georgia Five using a ticket from Murphy Express on Jan. 11 — part of a week of wins that saw two Fantasy 5 prizes of $455,437, with proceeds funding education. WRDW

- ➤ Tiger Woods celebrated the 30th anniversary of his TGR Foundation by announcing a new learning lab in Augusta at the old Lamar Elementary to teach STEM+ arts to kids. The foundation raised $50 million and plans to support more education programs. WRDW

- ➤ A national study in Pediatrics shows that nearly 40% of Georgia counties lack a pediatrician, forcing rural families to drive long distances for care. - ➤ The CDC will update the flu map today, showing data from Georgia and South Carolina as experts watch for a potential peak during one of the worst seasons in years.
